yet another piston/ring set...

My hyper ate another ring and piston. It happened on idle this time round, so damage was minimal. Ding the crankcase and con-rod a bit, but both could be touch up with sand paper.
Idle was already acting funny the morning that I tried to start it. It was ok at home the day before, but since I always tune my idle to be super rich, I didn't suspect any issue. Thinking back, the ring was probably already cracked. If I had caught it, the piston could have been reused.
Pistons of different states of pitting.

One thing I noticed, every broken piston has the same damage between the wrist pin and ring on the piston...

Best Engine bearing I have ever used...

IJK bearing.

I have never had more than 60flights on my hyper before requiring a bearing change. I tried EZO, NTN, SNK...all got rough pretty soon. The IJK last so much longer. My first one went through over 60flights and I changed it for peace of mind, it was still butter smooth when I got it out. My last one lasted almost 90flights. It was still usable when I changed it, just not as smooth as a new one.

Realflight G4

Its been a while since I last updated...exams and school project...anyway...

"upgraded" from G3.5 TO G4 and I can honestly say...its pretty much pointless unless you have a pc with good graphic card. I am using a cheap geforce 7300 and sad to say, I can't use the added graphical effects like bloom effect, dynamic shadow, soft shadow and water flying on rendered field. Its a slight improvement from G3.5 in the sense that with the G4, I can run highest setting on everything except shadow at medium and still get around 40-50fps on photo field. With G3.5, I couldn't run any shadow and still get smooth frame rate.

As for flying...the video says it all.
